Delhi-NCR based Maquina, an online marketplace for construction equipment, has secured funding from publicly-listed
SPML Infra Ltd, as per a statement. The financial details of the funding were, however, not disclosed.
The platform, run by Maquina Mercantile Pvt Ltd, is a platform for buying, selling and renting equipment with innovative remote equipment management features.
"Maquina goes a step ahead in giving the lessors and lessees full control of the usage of equipment and allows project managers to utilise their key resources in timely execution of the projects which directly improves the credibility of any organization," said Rishab Sethi, executive director of SPML Infra.
The startup, founded by SK Vasishat, Amit Nagpal, Kamal Jeet Singh and Adityajay Khajuria earlier this year, is a sister company of
Ajashy Engineering Sales Pvt Ltd, an offshore equipment manufacturing company.
"With this push the feeling of responsibility to re-organise the construction equipment market grows within us and we shall strive to deliver the best to the market. Our vision is to add value to the construction equipment market by introducing technology and innovation and giving controls to the equipment owners and end users," said Nagpal, director of Maquina Mercantile Pvt. Ltd.
Established in 1981, Gurgaon-based SPML Infra is an infrastructure development company that has managed and implemented over 600 projects across India on an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction), PPP (public private partnership) and BOOT (build-own-operate-transfer) basis.
